Kentucky car shows coming up this year
The Louisville forum seems pretty slow, so I thought I would add these:

Louisville British Bash, June 6-7, marque car is Healey
http://www.britishbash.com/

Lexington Concours d'Elegance, July 19, marque car is Cadillac
http://www.keenelandconcours.com/

I went to the Lexington Concours last year and it was a great event at a scenic location, highly recommended.

Louisville Concours d'Elegance at Churchill Downs, Oct 5, marque car is Ferrari.
Their website is not up yet but I will post it when it is ready.

The Louisville Concours could be a great late season drive for the Indy guys. I am helping with the planning of this event and would love to see a great turnout here. The proceeds go to benefit Brooklawn ( http://www.brooklawn.net/aboutus.htm ), which is a great organization. I am very excited about this Concours.

Nice. I didn't realize that there was a British Bash every year, I will be planning on checking it out this year.

It's a fun event! The only thing I hated last year was the weather. It rained all afternoon.

Yeah, I am already worried that rain is going to cause problems at the Louisville Concours event this year, I am keeping my fingers crossed about that.

What I meant to say above is that I had just found out about the British Bash right before I started this thread and that's why I was surprised we had that event here every year.

Hopefully the Louisville Concours won't be as hot as the British Bash, seems like every year I leave that event covered in sweat!

The Louisville Concours site was up a few a days ago but wasn't fully populated yet. Guess they were giving it a trial run.

Will you be there? Time to get some bondo and Krypton paint if you think that little dent should slow you down.

I'll be there regardless! I hope I'm in an Elise but only time (really really hope not too much time) will tell

Also, I think the Concours is the 4th and the 5th.

Nothing yet, supposed to hear the first estimate tomorrow. I did find a recommended shop in the Cincinnati area that I'll be taking it to for a second estimate.

There were similar wrecks on Etalk that were considered total.

Thats my first thought but I do think it could go either direction. Either way I'll be ok with it, if they end up fixing it I'll make a few subtle changes that I always wanted to do but didn't because it would require repainting areas of the car. Lemons into lemonade

The Louisville Concours site is live... again

New exhaust was already in the works, it (or a new'ish Elise) will have a Von Hep in the near future. I'm really just thinking about little things. I want to fill in the seam at the front, give it a smoother look... (notice the seam that runs from one wheel well to the other, at the bottom of the lights)

image

Instead of re-applying the cheesy Lotus decal to the rear going with an actual Lotus badge or raised lettering. Swapping out the now bent and beaten rear grill (on either side of the license plate) with a 2006 piece that doesn't have the reflectors. Maybe using mesh to replace the plastic grills in the front clam, kind of an Exige look. Small things like that. A lot of it is stuff that doesn't necessarily cost much but that I was too cheap to swap because it didn't "need" to be replaced, whereas now it might just mean an extra $20 or so for a part here and there.

edit:
British Bash online registration is now active... I've heard a few different horror stories about long delays in repairing Elise' so I'm holding off on my registration for now. If I have a car to enter though I can assure you I'll be there.

After that I am off for a couple weekends so I am looking for something to do during the day.
