I'm looking for a place to live and was wondering if anyone had any advice. I'll be working right by the Sears tower and I want to own a car and a motorcycle...if that's possible.

can anybody give real estate advice??

buy low sell high

see we were being smartasses

living in downtown Chicago, you'll be lucky to afford a bus pass

dibs on crashing at your place in the winter

try LamboPower or Ferrari Chat, they have people that know everything, someone has to know about that place. All I can offer is stay the fuck away from the south side of Chicago!!!!

shit, Chicago sounds miserable and worse than Ive heard before. Both my parents are from there, so I have some backround with that crappy town.
If you want/can afford to live downtown where you work I cant help yah any, plus any car or bike you buy wont get very much fun use there. If you can take a train or try to deal with traffic the north and west burbs are your best shot.

youve lived in Tokyo, so Im sure you can put up with Chicago

my parents are from the SS, are you saysing theres something wrong with the SS!!!!

jk
I know it is, he would always get sad when watching WGN and the Chicago news here and seeing the top 10 stories all about murder and crime strees and 90% of the time it was from the SS, and when they would show churches or places he worked or hung out in the backround the signs were all in spanish now. Its pretty clear to figure out what went so very wrong over the years in Chicago

with a VERY VERY slight grade
you are gonna scrape the shit out of your car in Chicago......if you can even get it outta the garage
and when you do, you're SOL in the snow, snow tires or not, you car doesnt make a good plow
buy a CRV or something for Nov-Feb weather....and dont lower that too

I would LOVE to have a Grand Cherokee actually but it's impossible to own two cars in Chicago. Which is why I want something AWD and sporty. I wish I could buy an older Skyline GT-R....

Actually, I didn't bottom out too much driving around downtown Chicago. and I got up the company parking lot just fine. The only issue I have is oversize speed bumps, and when I have to get up a curb onto something like a driveway.

wow, I had a son of a bitchin time with my truck in the garages, but that was mostly due to size. If you can drive without taking out your bumper every week you still have to worry about snow/ice AND with your car being so low in snow it will act as a plow and maybe even tear off your bumper like Mitch front lip on the NSX

I say Subi/Mitsu Rallied out car go balls out on that beotch

Yuki,
How is Chicago these days? The new job, apt, etc...

coco-bun

Nov 12, 2009, 10:54 pm
Job = couldn't complain . learning a lot, meeting very high ranked people, but the best part has to be the corporate charge card lol.

image
apt = I absolutely love it. it's an old factory turned into a condo 2 years ago. exposed bricks/ducts, hardwood floor, marble (or granite, i forget) top kitchen, 11ft ceilings, 9 ft window. and i have my own spot in an underground heated garage. plus the property is gated with security 24/7 .

lemme know if you guys are coming to Chicago!! and thanks for all the support Bill!
