spotted Mark and Rick off I69/96th st exit.
we honked, waved, and called...finally got mark's attention lol.
Yuki...for some odd reason, I always thought your car was white. If I hadn't heard the horn, I probably would not have heard the phone. Windws down, exhaust, music playing...I was in a zone.
I had no idea Doltmo was behind me until he passed me at 131 & Hwy 37. I figured they got off around Keystone. Tummy was calling for lunch and I was in a hurry.
Newer model red Viper with matte black HREs on the square yesterday evening plus a bunch of old hot rods. A Mustange brigade was there as well - four pretty nice ones parked in a row.
Who's black Maserati is that?
Also, what all shops did you visit?
As Webby noted...Jag.
Have to say visiting the shops was a true eye opener. All spectrums of race budgets. I'm not sure all of the shops we visited, but here's a few:
John Force Racing - they mill their own cylinder heads!!!
Pedregon Racing - Met Frank Pedregon and he has a sense of humor!
Jimmy cowan Motorsports
Beast - midgets, 1/4 midgets, sprint and parts
Lucas Oil
Torroc (sp?) - whole family races and wife was super nice and gave us a great lesson. Both kids, 14 yr old son and 12 yr old daughter race.
Several others I can't recall and we missed a bunch of others due to other committments.
1957 works Sebring Lotus 11. Raced Sebring 1957 - 1959. Purchased in 1971 from a Virginia junkyard for $400. Before and after pics below. Most will recognize the Corkscrew at Monterey.
1951 356 Porsche Cabriolet. Currently competing at Amelia Island & Meadow Brook. Before and after pics below.
Toss in a Super 7, 1951 356 coupe race car, 1950 Buick radical custom, and 911 project. Oh yea, his brother's Datsun 240Z BRE Racer purchased late 70's which some local intel tells me is #3.
All are in Indy!!! Yes, we all know which one I want to see first.
He said I could post the pics of the 11 and 356. Stunning work on both.
He intends to have the Lotus 11 at Putnam in August. Worth the trip just to watch it roll through the turns.
Spotted, Sunday morning about 10am on the east side of Indy heading south on I-465, then westbound on I-70 - black and silver Bugatti Veyron closely followed by a black RR Phantom.
Our friend Tim Durham, heading to the race in style!
